NB:
English and Bengali / Hindi (as a Modern Indian Language) are Compulsory for General and Honours Degree Students.
No change of Subjects will normally be allowed after a lapse of one month after admission. Change of subjects will also not be permitted as a matter of course.

Admission commences immediately after the publication of the results of the relevant examination of the West Bengal Higher Secondary Council. All applications for admission are to be made in the Prescribed Forms available from the College Office as well as from the website. The Admission Forms, duly completed, should be submitted to the College Office with the following documents :
- Mark sheet of the Last Examination (One Xerox Copy)
- Admit Card of Secondary Examination (One Xerox Copy)
- One recent stamp size photograph
- One Xerox Copy of S.C./S.T. Certificate (for S.C./S.T. Students)
from appropriate authorities.
- A letter from the legal guardian appointing a local guardian when the student does not live with the legal guardian.

Incomplete application forms not complying with the instructions are liable to be rejected. |

After all the applications have been received(within the specified dates) the College will publish its merit list of eligible candidates who may then be entitled to admission in different courses. Original documents must be shown at the time of admission. All such admission will be treated as provisional, pending approval of the University. |

Regulation for Admission to the 3-Year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours, General & Major) and B.Mus. (Hons. & General) Courses of Studies effective from the Academic Session 2009-10 onwards. |

Admission Qualifications : |
| 1. |
A candidate who has passed the H.S (+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the 1st. year of the 3-year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons./General/Major) or B.Mus. (Hons. & General) Course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less then 100.
Candidates who have passed the H.S.(+2) Vocational Examination conducted by the W.B. State council of Vocational Education & Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A. (General/Major) 1st. year course of studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only. However, the candidates who have passed the aforesaid H.S. Examination in Business & Commerce shall also be eligible for admission to the B.Com. (General/Major) 1st. year course of studies under this university.
However, no candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular course of study after passing the previous qualifying examination.
Explanation : The year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying Examination.
For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Enviornmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, this may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks. |
| 2.(a) |
A candidate taking up Honours course in a subject must have obtained : |

- A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subeject at the previous qualifying examination in case of B.Mus.(Hons.) 45% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject Music in the pre-qualifying examination.
Or;
- 55% in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination [In case of B. Mus (Hons) 50% marks in the subject at pre-qualifying exam.]
Or;
- 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied. [In case of B.Mus.(Hons.) 45% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject music in the pre-qualifying exam. Candidates shall be admitted on the basis of the admission test to be conducted by the college authority concerned.]

However, candidates belonging to the SC or ST community taking up Hons. Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifing exam, as the case may be. |

Students who have passed the H.S. (+2) Exam. or its eqlivalent from the All India Boards / Councils (i.e. CBSE, ISC and National Inst. of Open Schooling) need not require to submit the Migration Certificate for getting registration under this university. |

| 2.(b) |
However, candidates belonging to the SC or ST community taking up Hons. Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifing exam, as the case may be. |

For B.A./B.Sc. (Hons. / Genral/Major) Course of studies, a candidate is required to choose his/her Hons. and two/three elective subjects, as the case may be, from among Group-I to VIII as shown later by taking not more than one subject from any of the groups mentioned. |
